General objectives / relationship to QC curriculum: 
This lesson aims to introduce the five senses with a focus on the animal kingdom. Students will explore how different animals have adapted different anatomical structures for sight, touch, hearing, taste, and smell to perceive the world around them. 
QC curriculum:
Progressions of Learning in Elementary School - Science and Technology, Living Things:
A.2.g. Associates the parts and systems of the anatomy of animals with their general functions.
A.2.h. Explains the sensorial functions of certain parts of the anatomy (skin, eyes, mouth, ears, nose).

Performance objectives:
  1. Identify the five different senses.
  2. Describe examples of animal structures adapted for different senses.​
